ENGAGEMENT & IMPACT

As well as delivering the best research training for our students, the SBM CDT aims to engage with the wider community and create a long-lasting impact into the advancement of science, outreach and public engagement.
PUBLICATIONS
Our students' research has already led to several publications in high-impact journals.
OUTREACH
Our students are encouraged to play an active role in activities aimed at disseminating chemistry and science to the wider public.
STORIES
We asked our students to share their views and experience of life in the SBM CDT. Here's what they said!
OXFORD SYNTHESIS SUMMER CONFERENCE: 25-26th July 2024
The OSSC2024 is taking place in Oxford on 25-26th July 2024. Over two days, attendees will meet and listen to five of the most inspirational and influential minds in chemistry tell the stories behind their world-leading research careers, and the journey to where they are today.

Registration includes refreshments, lunch and drinks reception. Graduate student delegates are encouraged to submit an abstract of their work, which may be selected for poster and/or rapid-fire oral presentations (deadline 17th May 2024).
A key component of our advanced synthesis training programme, the OSSC is organised by students and aims to engage all synthetic chemistry students across the UK and beyond in discussions of their research careers and the future of chemical synthesis, fostering motivation and facilitating networking and knowledge transfer.
